About me
My name is Maria Rocha, I am a qualified Counsellor, Clinical Transpersonal Regressive Hypnotherapist and Supervisor, Registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy BACP.
I work with a wide range of techniques from different approaches such as Psychodynamic, CBT, Gestalt, Integrative, Transpersonal Hypnotherapy, Person Centered, Psychosynthesis, to Hypnoanalysis, Solution Focused therapy and a few more Holistic Therapies, depending on client’s presenting issues and needs.
In this way, I will be able to help you to understand what is happening right now in your life, trace it back to the root that caused the pain, heal what needs to be healed and strengthen your sense of identity so that you will be in charge of your own life.
Together, we will address your life’s problems on a physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual level.
After our first e-mail exchange, we will schedule a Skype or Zoom session for an initial session where we will discuss what brings you to therapy, how I can help, and decide the terms upon which we will work together.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Unfortunately, I am not currently seeing clients face-to-face.
I do online sessions mostly through Zoom/Skype/WhatsApp.
Advantages might include:-
- Cheaper for clients and therapists - as no travel expenses or room bookings.
- Less time consuming for clients – no travel time.
- Easier to reschedule a session last minute.
- Fully accessible for those who are housebound, disabled, unable to leave work, have transport limitations and prefer to explore their feelings at the safety of their own homes – not having to travel after a difficult session.
- Not geographically dependent.
- Clients may feel more comfortable having the therapy ‘in’ their own environment after a day’s work.
