This can enable you gain a clearer view of yourself, give you a new focus and direction, as well as improve the relationships of those around you.
I have been a qualified practising counsellor for over 12 years: when I started working for 'Mind'. My main arrears of expertise are working with children, families and couples, after completing my post graduate diploma in systemic family therapy. I have worked in both primary and secondary mainstream schools, as well as other various mental health organisations, I worked for 5 years in a special school for pupils suffering from emotional and behavioural difficulties.
I also provide clinical supervision.
I understand that counselling can be daunting, and people can be apprehensive about first initial engagement. I work as an integrated, systemic therapist, using different tools and techniques to suit individual needs.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Post Graduate Diploma in Systemic Family Therapy a Post Graduate Diploma in Integrated Counselling and a BSc in Criminology. I keep up to date with new tends on therapeutic models to help with individual clients.
I currently work with Relate, working with individuals and couples around relationship issues, and am a trainer for The Place2Be who provide a counselling and therapeutic support in primary schools. I worked as a school project manager for The Place2Be, where I became a therapeutic supervisor.
I have a wealth of experience working with children suffering from emotional behavioural difficulties, family breakdown, depression, stress and mental health issues.
