About me

I am a qualified and experienced couples, family and individual Relationship Therapist and Supervisor working with all aspects of relationship difficulties. Is your relationship making you feel depressed and anxious? Are you in a cycle of arguments that you cannot escape? Is it difficult for you to talk about what is happening and this is making you feel depressed or anxious? Communication is often at the heart of relationship difficulties and coming to see a counsellor can often allow for a different kind of understanding which is more helpful and safe in a calm, non-judgemental environment.

As a relationship therapist I work with couples, families and individuals.  My work focuses on the dynamics of the relationship in the present and for some clients it is useful to explore past relationships as this can be useful to understand the dynamics of relationships in the present in order to gain a greater understanding of how clients relate to themselves and others.

Taking the first step to contact a counsellor can feel daunting but in my experience it can change lives. I believe that counselling is a collaborative, explorative process that can be inspiring and enlightening and can have a huge impact on our relationships. My practice is based in Thame and Marlow which are easily accessible from High Wycombe, Aylesbury, Haddenham and Oxford.

I work both short term and long term and this will be led by the needs of the client.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I believe relationship difficulties past and present can influence our feelings of well-being and prevent us from moving forward in our lives.

Given the space to explore our feelings in a non-judgemental and caring environment can be an opportunity for self-reflection and discovery.

In addition I am trained in couple therapy for depression - which is known to have a negative effect on couple relationships.

Fees
