Profile
I am a Person-Centred Counsellor based in Lancaster. I believe that counselling can help you become more aware of your own ability to deal with issues that are causing anxiety and stress in your day to day life. Gaining a clearer understanding of yourself can help you cope better with all areas of your life and so create more positive outcomes. Therefore it is important to give yourself the time and space to explore the underlying issues that are the cause of your problems.
I work from a house in the town centre which is used only for therapy and therefore provides a safe and therapeutic environment for you to explore your issues. I believe that working in a non-judgemental and caring way can help you face any fears you may have about coping with these issues and enable self belief and so build self confidence and self esteem.
I have experience in working with all kinds of issues including family relationships, low self-esteem, stress, bereavement, bulling and abuse. I also have extensive experience of working with addiction and have a wide knowledge of the consequences that can be created, not only for the person abusing mood altering substances, but for their significant others.
I can offer short or long term work to suit your needs, of one hour sessions on a weekly basis. My service is confidential and I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and work by their strict code of ethics.
