M. Rita Brophy
Anahata Health Clinic
119-120 Edward Street
I am passionate about the value of therapy and believe it can help bring about posItive change to individuals' lives. As an Integrative counsellor my training allows me to draw on a variety of approaches and techniques. These include CBT, Gestalt, mindful meditation, visualisation and focussing.
My experience has been gained by working in a number of agencies in Brighton, such as such Young People's Centre (13-24year olds), Age UK, (50+) and The Rock Clinic and Cruse Bereavement Services.
How can counselling help?
Sometimes thIngs happen in our lives which get in the way of us living fulfilling lives and prevent us from reaching our true potential. For example, you may have recently had a diagnosis of a condition or suffer from anxiety or have relationships difficulties; or perhaps you feel you are driinking too much or have issues around addictions; or maybe you have suffered a bereavemnt and finding it difficult to move on. Counselling can often provide that catalyst for change and can allow you to see your life from a different perspective.
How many sessions are needed?
The time frame really depends upon the issue presented and the particular outcome desired. I can work with clients in a short term solution focussed way or on a long term basis - it's what best meets the needs of individual the client.
