About me

Hello and welcome to my page

It can feel daunting to contact a therapist and consider that you may need support, but a simple telephone conversation will provide an opportunity to speak with me about any issues or concerns you wish to work on or resolve. I will explain the process of counselling and then we can arrange a convenient time to meet and discuss a suitable time framework for us to work within.

Perhaps you are overwhelmed by the pressures of life, stuck in a rut, repeating negative patterns, or trying to find a way out of anxiety or depression.

Are you using drugs or alcohol excessively and you don’t know why, or you do know why but don’t feel able to share with those around you?

Maybe you just don’t feel like ‘you’ and you don't feel able to get unstuck.

You may be having relationship difficulties, suffering a bereavement, feeling isolated, lonely, or simply want to work out why things are always happening to you?

Do you feel that now is the time to become unstuck in the life you have and make changes in how you relate to yourself and relate to the people around you?

Change is scary, and may seem terribly difficult when you feel that you are at your lowest but you are worth it – so let’s work it out – together!

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
