About me

Thank you for taking a few minutes to view my profile. I have 12 years experience in counselling clients presenting with the issues listed below, working in the voluntary and public sectors. I believe that the relationship formed between my client and myself is most important to bring about a positive outcome in the counselling process. When my client is listened to in a safe confidential place where they are not being judged and where they are not being given 'advice' they relax and open up to be their 'true' selves, they feel valued. Some clients have a 'deeper wound' perhaps from negative childhood experiences. However, these past experiences can still impact on their ability to cope and their well-being in the present.

I have found by making a connection with my client at a deeper level I am able to show empathy. It has been my experience that when these 'core' conditions are present together with the appropriate therapeutic approach, that positive change happens. I Believe everyone has the power within themselves to change and grow, but sometimes we fail to believe in ourselves and feel powerless when faced with life events. I have been privileged to work with many clients towards this positive change over 6 - 8 sessions.
