About me

I am an experienced adult & couples counsellor with a calm, warm and friendly disposition, professional in my working attitude as well as a clear, methodical thinker.

I have over 10,000 hours of counselling experience and I believe my strength is in the ability to build a deep and meaningful therapeutic relationship with another human being. In my experience, this is a huge part of the healing process.

My approach in counselling is Person Centred. This means that I believe in the ability of every human being to find and exploit his or her own powerful resources to resolve and overcome whatever difficulties come up. My focus is always in making sure that the conditions for you to heal, blossom and grow, are present.

As well as offering respect, empathy and honesty, I bring a varied personal life experience, including many years of working in high-pressured environments.

Some of the areas I am particularly experienced with are relationship problems, bereavement, loss, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and work-related issues.

I also have a sigificant amount of experience in working with people on the Autistic Spectrum.

In addition to the above, I hold top awards achieved in my training and can offer therapeutic counselling in fluent Italian, Spanish, conversational Portuguese as well as in fluent English, of course!

I work as a counsellor and therapist within a professional counselling organisation called Lemon Grove Counselling and Therapy, founded by myself and fellow counsellor, Sally Humphries. We have come together to set up Lemon Grove because we both believe in the same approach and our aim is to create the peace and tranquillity that goes hands in hand with the healing process.

If you would like to meet one of us, we would be pleased to make an an appointment for you to do so. This initial session is a chance for you to find out a bit more about how counselling could help you and to help you decide if Lemon Grove is the right place for you.

Our counselling room in Broughton Grange is situated in a tranquil, yet very accessible, location on the outskirts of Kettering, only a few minutes drive from the centre of Kettering and 15 minutes drive from Corby and Wellingborough. The private and homely room is located within a building shared with other companies and health professionals. There is ample free parking at the location. However, for those with restricted mobility, please be aware the room is located on the first floor.

(Please note, although the postal address for Broughton Grange is Headlands, it is located near Kettering Golf Club on the edge of the town)

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
