About me

Here is a brief video I uploaded to help those having troubles during lockdown

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5pEIgCe_TM&t=80s

I can help you learn ways to cope with and overcome a range of difficult emotions, including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, anger and stress, and manage your thoughts and moods in a more productive way to lead to a healthier mental environment with a greater sense of self worth and confidence in who you are. I like to work in a down to earth manner, I have been through some tough times myself and having come through the other side I decided to use this experience alongside training to help others do the same.

I also have vast experience working with Teenagers in Secondary Schools successfully dealing with a range of Emotional and Behavioural problems, including depression, anxiety, self-harming, OCD, and other conditions. I have successfully transferred this work into my Practice, and offer this alongside my work with Adults.

I provide a safe and non judgmental environment for you to talk through things in a way where you will not be judged, but valued on the person you are and difficulties you are going through, offering a free 30 minute introductory session to make sure you are comfortable with how I work. I have been highly successful in my work, with many very satisfied clients over the last 10 years.

I am continually expanding my knowledge so as to provide the best service possible to anyone I work with working from a purpose built studio in my garden, which is easily accessible and I provide off street parking.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

I like to approach therapy in a down to earth and relatable way. I have started a youtube channel with some basic mental health advice, here is an example video where you can see how I approach a problem like Anxiety. This is a very general video and of course coming in for a personal session will produce much more of a bespoke approach.
