About me

Hello and welcome, my name is Manuela.

I am a professionally trained counsellor practising in East London and a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I am committed to offer a safe and confidential space to encourage you to reflect upon where in your life you seek clarity.

My approach to counselling

I work using both short term (3-6 months) and long term Psychodynamic approach, which means understanding past experiences that may impact on how you feel in the present. Together we will explore what process lay behind your present challenges and help you achieve a greater sense of well being and self-awareness.

Area of expertise

In my private practice in Shoreditch, I work a lot with relationship issue, and the feeling of betrayal and anxiety associated with separation and divorce. Counselling can help clarifying your thoughts and feelings and support you to move forward.

I have 5 years experience working in the charity and public health sector as a bereavement counsellor, specialising in loss and attachment related issues. While supporting with coping with the pain, my role is to help my clients regain their sense of identity and independence.

I also provide therapy across a range of mental, emotional and interpersonal struggles such as anxiety, depression, anger and low self esteem.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

I provide an initial assessment after which you will already have a great insight on the type of work that needs to be done to overcome your present challenges. An initial assessment meeting will allows us to get to know each other , discuss what concerns you, ask any question, understand confidentiality and to determine what is the best therapeutic approach you could benefit from.

If you would like to know how we can work together and how I can support you with the challenges that have brought you here today, get in touch by using a contact option to book an introductory assessment session with me.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
