I am a BACP accredited counsellor and have over 17 ears experience. I work from my home in Belper and can offer day time and evening appointments, depending on your availability. I have extensive experience of working in private practice. I also work within the NHS, working with clients in palliative care.
I have extensive experience working with bereavement, I have also worked at Nottingham Women's Centre, working with Depression, Anxiety, Domestic Violence, Abuse, Stress, Addiction and Relationship Issues. I work with EAP ( Employee assistance programme) - working with stress/anxiety in the work place.
My aim is to offer a safe, warm and accepting environment, in which you can explore your experiences, gaining insight & understanding of yourself. I am committed to working in a way that supports, nurtures and enables you to make your own decisions about your life.
Most importantly, it is a place for to be heard and understood.
How Counselling Can Help:
How often do you get the opportunity to have somebody listen to you, without making judgements or telling you what you should do? Being heard in this way by a skilled Counsellor can help you to work through issues and find more fulfilment in your life. I believe that to be really heard and understood can help you to connect more fully with yourself.
How Counselling Works:
This belief fits in with the way I work within the Person-Centred Approach. The approach is based on the belief that we all have the capacity to grow and change and move towards our full potential.
