About me
As an Author of self help books as well as considerable lived experience and expertise as a relationship expert I offer affordable psychotherapy in Shoreham. As a Sussex Counsellor I believe that everyone is unique and as a result have different issues. Therefore different issues need different methods of listening. I use an integrative approach which uses the bests bits from many counselling methods and is adaptable and flexible depending on your type of issue. Being a qualified mental health professional for many years in the statutory, private and voluntary sectors I have worked with people with a whole range of different and complex problems. I facilitate and enhance personal insight with the ultimate goal of empowering you to change and move forward in life. I also aim to enable people to maintain what they have learnt in therapy. I empower people to develop strategies to have the tools when confronted with other problems to cope more effectively and be in control of their lives in the future. Through a therapeutic journey with me and at your own pace I can help enable you to gradually find a way to empower yourself to change your thinking and move forward. I firmly believe that “If you change your thinking you can change your life.
I am available Monday to Saturday 9 to 8pm. I made an ethical decision to provide video link rather than my treatment room to keep everyone safe during this difficult time. I have also worked as a counsellor empowering parents with children and young people with a range of special needs to develop copying strategies to move forward. As well as professional capacity I have a personal interest as my own son has special needs so can share empathy effectively as well as provide effective therapy in this sensitive and difficult personal area.

I have undertaken considerable training and have successfully gained numerous professional qualifications including a Psychology (Hons) BSc Degree which is recognized by the BPS.
Also as well as being a qualified Counsellor and psychotherapist I am also a qualified Independent Mental Health Advocate (IMHA) in a statutory role as well as Generic Community Advocate.
During the day I work with people with a range of different issues mainly in crisis who are diagnosed with severe mental health problems, dual diagnosis, drug and alcohol and various learning difficulties. I also coordinate and facilitate Advocacy groups, user involvement forums and parent support groups in the East Sussex local area.
