About me

The commotion and chaos of everyday life means it can be challenging to find time dedicated to you, where you can think and unravel what is truly going on. You may find yourself running around in circles, feeling drained and weighed down, not really knowing why. You may have specific concerns that you would like to resolve or may just want somewhere to go to talk things through.

What I offer

Whatever the reason may be, I offer you a safe, reflective and supportive space where we can explore and consider the issues that are affecting you. I will actively listen to you and understand your world and the experiences you have had. I believe you are the only expert on your life, it is you who knows what hurts and what is important to you. I offer a warm and sensitive approach, free from judgment, where you will feel accepted and understood. I believe you have within you the resources for change. We will work together to find what works best for you. Through this you will gain a heightened sense of awareness and engage more fully in life.

Training, qualifications & experience

My Background

I am trained in using an Integrative model of counselling and psychotherapy. This enables me to draw upon a range of models such as Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) and Psychodynamic therapies, to better tailor sessions for your individual needs.  Underpinning all my therapeutic work are values promoted by a Person-Centred approach as well as Existential ideas and mindfulness practices. I hold a FdA and BSc (Hons) in Counselling (University of East London) and an MSc in Psychology (University of East London). I am a registered member of the BACP and abide by their ethical framework. I am also a member of the British Psychological society which enables me to keep informed of current practices/research in psychology and mental health care.

I have worked with adults and children in both the private and public sector. This has provided significant experience in a very broad spectrum of issues, with a particular focus in trauma (sexual/physical abuse, PTSD and domestic violence).

Session Details

The first session will be an initial consultation where I gather information about your needs/goals for therapy. It is also an opportunity for you to ask questions regarding therapy or simply to see if you would like to work together. If you decide to proceed, sessions can be tailored to suit your personal situation. I offer face-to-face therapy, which can be either brief (6-12 sessions) or longer term, in a comfortable and secure setting.  Should you require additional flexibility with regards to scheduling or location, there is the option of Skype and/or telephone based therapy.  Please get in touch if you have any questions and we can discuss details.
