Mair Felix. Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy.
My name is Mair Felix - Welcome to my Counselling Directory Profile. I believe that the therapeutic relationship can raise people’s awareness of difficult issues and enable them to make positive changes for themselves.
What I offer.
Beginning therapy can cause some anxiety so I aim to make our initial contact as straight forward and supportive as possible. I offer a comfortable private and confidential therapy room. I listen attentively, which provides a space for sharing whatever issues may be of concern to you.
Everyone is unique and your experience and worldview is where we begin together. Some people will know they want e.g. short - term work (maybe six sessions) to focus on a particular issue that is causing some difficulty in the present. This could be redundancy, children leaving home, retirement, difficulties in a relationship etc. Other people need long term work to explore how childhood experiences that may continue to impact on the present day. Some areas that I have experience of working with are:
- Physical or sexual abuse.
- Domestic abuse and violence.
- Suicidal feelings.
- Exploring Sexuality.
However sometimes things are not so clear and we may come to therapy unsure of what we want or need. I offer a supportive and nurturing environment where issues can emerge and we can focus on them together.
I am experienced at working with people as a counsellor, psychotherapist and in the past as a social worker. I have regular clinical supervision to enable me to work both effectively and ethically, as I adhere to UKCP ethical guidelines.

Discussing money is often difficult and I acknowledge that therapy can be costly. I am committed to ensuring that we review our work on a regular basis so that you make firm choices about the length of time we work together.
I charge £20 for the initial session – which is a 50 minute session. If you decided to work with me – I have a sliding scale between £35 - £45 which we will discuss at our first session.
My current therapy venue is not disabled accessible. There are eight steps up to the main entrance and the therapy room is on the first floor. If you need a disabled access venue I would be happy to look at alternative premises where we could meet.
I look forward to meeting you.
