CBT Therapist/Counsellor Maiken Twyman MBACP/Registered
Lower Leam Street
Counselling provides a non-judgmental and confidential setting for you to explore and reflect on behavioural or emotional issues. My clients have described me as warm, calm and approachable, which has helped ease any anxieties they may have felt around the whole counselling experience.
I believe this is vital, in order for a client to feel safe enough to open up and share thoughts and experiences, possibly for the first time. I would describe myself as very enthusiastic and passionate about the work that I do.
My main modality of therapy is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (or CBT). I strongly believe that this is a very effective way of working with a variety of issues, such as low self-esteem and anxiety. It is a talking therapy, which can help you manage by changing the way you think and behave. It provides you with a range of coping skills, aimed at your specific needs.
