About me

I am a experienced person-centred counsellor working for the past 10 years. I have worked on a one to one with adults children and young people. I also work with couples and families. I have worked in hospices, children's centres and in private practice. I have experience working on phone lines supporting people who feel life isn't worth living.

Being a person-centred counsellor I believe that each individual has the resources for growth and to become whole when offered a non-judgement, confidential empathic and congruent environment.

Through the counselling process a relationship of trust will develop with client and counsellor and the client can experience through verbalisation an understanding of their issues and self. The counselling process is very powerful and very rewarding.

My qualifications are. Level 2 CPCAB certificate in counselling skills. Level3 Certificate in counselling studies. ABC Diploma level4 in theory and practice of counselling.

I have trained with Myton hospice in Leamington with children adults and families for bereavement counselling. Certificate of Proficiency BACP.

I have worked in my private practice with adults children and couples.
I cover a wide range of issues. Bereavement, loss and grief, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, facing life changes, abuse, low self-esteem and eating disorders.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

I always make sure I take each individuals needs into consideration and sometimes when appropriate I use Psychodynamic and CBT methods.  I also use creative methods especially when working with children and young people.

I feel that these methods with person-centred counselling work well together as most clients will explore past, present and then future when they are ready to move forward.

I strongly believe in the counselling process and have experienced many clients finding their way in life.
