Lynne East at BE AND BELIEVE COUNSELLING MBACP
Welcome...My name is Lynne and I am a qualified Person Centred Humanistic Counsellor. My core approach is a non-directive one as I believe you are the only expert of your life. I work in a warm, respectful and non-judgmental way with anyone from the age of 12 offering both short and long term counselling. I am a caring, empathic and friendly person who can help you to rediscover and strengthen your own inner resources, increasing a stronger sense of self.
I am a member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) and I adhere to their ethical framework for good practice.
Are you looking for a counsellor who can offer you a safe, confidential space where you will be listened to without criticism or judgement ?, I am a counsellor who offers you exactly that... I hope this will help you to feel comfortable talking and the opportunity for us to explore together how you are currently feeling about your life, what you want for the future and from YOUR counselling. My role as a counsellor is to help increase your own self-awareness, to work at your speed and to encourage and support you with any aspects of your life. This could include aspects that you wish to gain more control of or where you may wish to change. As a counsellor, I feel humbled and privileged to do a job that I love helping and supporting many people come to their own place of healing and transformation
- "Life is about Being and Becoming.....Like a flower that will grow to its fullest potential if the conditions are right" Carl Rogers
You are not alone in how you are feeling, I have experienced fear and worry along with self doubt, I understand how you might be feeling, with the help of counselling over time I felt empowered and more in control of making the changes I wanted to see in my life which has brought about my own peace of mind and discovery of my true self.
My Interests and Specialties
I became a counsellor because I found it very difficult to find appropriate therapy for a very close family member who has High Functioning Autism (HFA). My specialism is working with clients and supporting their family members who are on the Autistic Spectrum and who have Special Educational Needs. Are you someone who is on the Autistic Spectrum ? Are you a parent, carer, sibling or family member of someone with Aspergers, ASD, ADHD or Special Educational Needs? Are you feeling overwhelmed and finding it difficult to cope? Do you need an empathic person who understands how you might are feeling; who will listen and put you first? If your answer is Yes to any of the above then I am here for YOU.
Being a counsellor at a mental health charity I have experience and specialise in working with clients who have Mental Health Conditions i.e Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, those who have suffered from and continue to suffer with various aspects of Trauma and Abuse, and those who are experiencing feelings of fear, anger and worthlessness; lacking in self-esteem, confidence and feeling overwhelmed.
Inner Child Therapy
Can you remember who you were before the world told you who you should be ? Do you find yourself behaving and reacting like a child but you can not understand why ? All of us carry around an "Inner Child" as a child we have basic needs of love, safety, trust, respect and guidance. If those basic human needs go unfulfilled our Inner Child may experience fear, anxiety, shame, anger, rejection and neglect, they are at high risk of developing abusive behaviour towards self and others, creating problems in all areas of life.
If you can identify with any of the above you may have a wounded "inner child". I can help you reconnect, understand, embrace and heal your inner child. For more details on Inner Child Therapy see the link below.
If you feel that I am a counsellor that can help you I offer a FREE 30 minute phone consultation where we can discuss in a little more detail the reasons you are considering counselling, you can ask me any questions you may have and we can see how we both feel about working together in a therapeutic way.
