About me
Hello, my name is Lynette, I am a qualified Therapeutic counsellor and member of the BACP. Firstly I would like to take the time to say thank you for reading my profile.
I offer short and long term counselling therapy, and that would be to suit your needs and requirements.
I work with adults, families, couples and young people.
I have a background including working with couples at Relate, Childline and at a Rape and Family Sexual abuse centre I can help with difficult and diverse issues. I have also worked with teenagers and young adults with complex problems.
My intentions are always hoping that I create a warm, comfortable and confidential environment, where you can feel safe, respected and free from judgement. You will be shown empathy and the ability to speak freely and share your problems openly in full confidence. I will work closely with you in a Person Centred way to help you resolve any ongoing issues that you may be experiencing.
I can help with issues in:
- anxiety and depression
- marital issues (couples or individuals)
- sibling rivalry
- childhood sexual abuse and adulthood effect
- specialise in bereavement support (long term or recent occurrence)
- low confidence and low self esteem
- addictions.
My aim is to help people overcome challenging situations that we can often unexpectedly find ourselves in. Life can be hard, lonely and frustrating and sometimes we may not know where or who to turn to in difficult and troubled times, sometimes all we need is the opportunity to be heard, understood and helped.
If you feel that I am the counsellor for and you wish to make contact with me, could I please ask you to contact me by telephone as this is my preferred way of contact (call or text). If I am unable to take your call please leave your name and phone number and I will get back to you. You are welcome to phone at any time, late evenings and even weekends.
If you would rather contact me by email you can send me a message here - I will respond promptly

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
