Profile
In offering you the time and space, within a confidential environment, you have the ability to explore difficult issues which are affecting your life.
I work integratively and follow Carl Roger's Person Centred approach, which means I work non-directively, but work to raise your consciousness and aim to widen your perspective through appropriate interventions. By doing so, you are enabled to make informed decisions on choices affecting your life and thus empower yourself to take charge of your life.
I follow BACP's Ethical Framework and Good Practice, which underpins my work and also undertake supervision to ensure quality of service and professional development.
My role is not to guide, instruct or decide what is best for you, it is to offer you this opportunity to explore your issues, concerns, thoughts, feelings and experiences in order for you to empower yourself and make choices that may lead to more fulfillment in your life.
One-to-one sessions are usually available at Newton Aycliffe's PCP consultation rooms and at a mutually agreeable time. If you wish me to travel, this will be discussed at the initial contact.
My recent professional development to complement my counselling therapy, is that of Life Coaching for those who wish a more directive, goal-orientated approach to issues and life concerns.
I am also a recently qualified Laughter Yoga Leader; a new type of gentle yoga, which, combined with laughter exercises, promotes a sense of fun and joy and has been scientifically proven to enhance your well being both physically and mentally. These sessions can be held one-to-one but are more beneficial in group sessions. Contact me for more information if you are interested in having a group or single session. Contraindications apply.
You can contact me via this website, www.cognitecounseling.co.uk, mobile 07929447992, email or skype.
