Lynn Rees Pg Dip CBT, MBACP
I am a fully qualified counsellor with experience of working with adults, couples, children and young adults with a range of issues including stress and anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, bereavement, anger, addiction and trauma and abuse. I also have experience of working within the LGBTQ community, particularly with young adults who are questioning their gender or sexuality.
My approach uses the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) model which focusses on helping you to uncover the negative thoughts and behaviours which contribute to the issues in your life. Using evidence based techniques and your inner resources we would work towards developing new strategies for dealing with these problems and moving forward in a positive manner.
Working from a dedicated office in my own home, I aim to create a safe, non-judgemental, trusting therapeutic space where we can work collaboratively to help you express yourself fully, and reflect on and explore your issues.
I work with both a time limited approach or longer term therapy depending on your needs.
Choosing the right therapist and model of therapy is difficult, and often anxiety provoking. For this reason I offer a short, free, no obligation conversation, in person or by telephone, for you to decide if you we are right to work together.
Please feel free to either telephone or email me to set this up. If you are happy to continue we can bok in your first therapy session. Normally, to enable you to settle in and to see progress, we would book the first few sessions a week apart, from there we can determine what frequency is best for you.
I look forward to hearing from you.
