About me

If you are looking at this website and my profile I would guess you are looking for someone, something to help make things feel better. You may be suffering from anxiety and this can stop you seeking help, you may be confused and not understand why you are feeling like this or believe it can change. It can, change is possible and can be liberating, feeling more in control and understanding yourself, anxiety can be changed. The most important relationship in life is the one you have with yourself. Others obviously impact on us or shape us counselling to me is working out what belongs to you and what belongs to others, when you explore this it becomes clearer and then easier to work on and change.

What I believe in offering is a friendly safe space where we can build a good open, trusting relationship in complete confidentiality. Where I can help you explore and understand yourself and being human, and work on what you need. What you need to move forward, feel better in yourself, make changes or just have a voice that is listened to. Change can be easier than we think and lasting but curiously it can be something that many people avoid.

My core therapeutic training and values are person-centred but I work in an integrative way as I don't believe one approach works for all clients. We are all unique.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Diploma trained person centred Counsellor (Strathclyde University). In addition I have trained in Emotion Focused Therapy, EMDR, EFT, Mindfulness, Sleep disorders, Anxiety treatment. Individual, couples and group work.

Over the last 10 years I have worked with a range of things e.g.:- anxiety, stress, trauma, childhood abuse including sexual, physical and emotional, abuse in adulthood, bullying, loss, relationships, sleep issues, prison work, mental health, physical health and many more. This I believe has given me a broad experience of life and human beings but also informed me each individual is unique. I have worked in the business world, public sector and charities. I have also had my own fair share of personal life experiences.
