About me

Face to face and video sessions now available in South Kirkby and Morley.

I qualified in 1992. Since that time I have worked with clients with low self esteem, anxiety, depression, anger issues, relationship issues, IBS, health issues, survivors of abuse, OCD,  survivors of NPD relationships, ADHD and many other areas. I have over 30 years experience with ADHD, check out www.headstufftherapy.com

I offer a confidential place to talk free from judgement that allows you space to be yourself. I have worked in a variety of settings and helped many 100s of people improve their life through the counselling process.

Counselling works for those wanting to make changes however small. It works for those who have tried everything else and its their last attempt to save a relationship. It works for those who have tried the medication route and still they don't feel or think like they used to. Counselling can help you learn about thoughts and behaviours that promote the feelings you are having. Believing that you 'cant' does not mean you cant change that thought to 'I can'. I've helped many clients do just that. Many have gone on to successful quality lives with strong relationships and positive self belief. Change the self-speak to change your thoughts, behaviours and feelings.

"Sometimes what you're most afraid of doing is the very thing that will set you free."

CBT has been proved to work with depression and anxiety. Admitting that you have depression and/or anxiety can be scary in itself. Its time to make that decision to seek help. Medication can help but it doesn't get to the route of the problem. I offer a mixture of CBT with psychotherapy to help you recognise your triggers and put in some coping strategies.

With over 30 years experience of inviting clients to talk about their issues at their own pace I have come to understand that the changes that happen within counselling can benefit the rest of your life.

I work individually and with couples. I believe that you are the one to direct how we work together. I will listen and help you change thoughts and behaviours that conflict with who you want to be.

Sometimes a thought or behaviour is the result of past traumas or childhood experiences so having a safe place and someone you can trust to unpack your worries cares and issues is essential for your well-being.

I am available for short and long term counselling face-to-face and via Skype, Zoom, Face Time WhatsApp or telephone

As well as CBT and counselling, I also offer supervision, life coaching and clinical hypnosis.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
