About me

I offer an integrative counselling service - I work with adults, teenagers and children. I work intuitively using the most effective method that I feel is appropriate for the clients problem. My main basis is person-centred using enhanced empathy and creative interventions if required to help build up relationships with my clients.  I am now added psychotherapy to my training - this offers specific interventions tailored to the individual to help with panic attacks, anxiety issues, relationship problems, loss, low self esteem and various other conditions.  Sometimes certain conditions cant be changed but we can learn to live with them and I may be able to offer an alternative and healthier way of coping.  I now offer couples counselling to help with any issues that you may have as a couple.  I also offer a process to help clients with ptsd, trauma, accidents - this is called the rewind technique - this allows the memory to be transferred from the part of the mind that holds the primitive survival mechanism to a different part where the mind can easily accept what has happened and allow it to be processed and let go off.

Interventions offered - stress management, anger management and acceptance, holistic therapy - I also do reiki, which is a healing energy connected to source. I can look at how your repressed emotions may be affecting your general health and relationships.

How will counselling help me?

Sometimes people find that they don't have anyone to talk to who will listen without judging them. Counselling is a safe place for an individual to share their concerns, anxieties and stories. We can look at how your way of thinking is contributing to any emotional issues that you are affected by. As counselling is completely confidential, except where danger to the client or others may be present, you can be reassured that anything that is discussed will stay with the counsellor.

I can offer counselling by Skype if you are unable to get to see me in person.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.
