About me

I provide short-term and long-term counselling for individuals, couples and young people aged 11+ in a confidential, safe, and comfortable environment, where you can explore the areas of your life that may be causing you problems.

My belief is that each person is unique and I use a combination of CBT, humanistic, gestalt and psychodynamic approaches in my work depending on individual needs and personalities to encourage greater insight, awareness, and understanding of why problems have arisen and how change can happen.  You are given the opportunity to talk about your life, thoughts and feelings in an open way that may not be possible with friends and family.  By offering my insights and supporting you to reflect on things, you can learn more about yourself and understand the nature and origins of your problems and in turn make the changes that you want, when you are ready.

Together we will set a goal of therapy for us to work towards supporting you to achieve your full potential by resolving areas of conflict or distress that you have.

Training, qualifications & experience

I see a wide variety of clients in my private practice for both short and long-term counselling, and I also work as a School Counsellor offering support to students aged 11-18.

Previously I have worked in a variety of settings including managing a large counselling practice at a health centre in Kingston, working as a University Counsellor, working as a Staff Support Counsellor for the NHS and counselling family members of sufferers of degenerative mental health.

I am an Accredited member of the British Association of Psychotherapists and Counsellors (MBACP) and have a BA (Hons) Degree in Integrative Relational Counselling and a Postgraduate Certificate in Adolescent and School Counselling. I am also a qualified Supervisor for counsellors and those working in the helping professions and run regular individual and group supervision sessions.

I have also undertaken additional extensive specialised training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Group Therapy, and Couple Counselling.
