About me

Hello, my name is Lulu Sinclair and I am an experienced counsellor and therapist. I work with a range of issues including anxiety, stress, depression, abuse, anger, addictions, relationship issues, bereavement, loss, trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder.

I believe counselling can be a great help in times of distress. It is a chance to discover what makes you tick and to find out what will help you to get the best out of life.

About counselling, and how I work

I draw on a range of theories in my practice but my focus is always on the unique relationship between client and counsellor. Our work in the counselling room is to help you identify what it is that will make a difference to your life, and to help you find a way of making a change.

I offer both short-term and open-ended counselling. A short-term contract would usually last between six and 18 weeks but there is always flexibility within that.

It may be that you feel you want to take longer to discover more about yourself. In that case, our work might be open ended and outside a specific time frame. It may involve reflecting more thoroughly on your early experiences and seeing how what happened in your past could be affecting how you are now.

Experience suggests a problem that is not looked at and acknowledged when it begins to trouble you may continue to affect you in some way into the future.

Getting started

The next stage would be to get in touch. You can either phone or text me on 075999 66596 or email me on lulusinclair@icloud.com. If I'm unable to answer your call, leave a message or text and I'll get back to you.

If you want to meet, we'll arrange a visit to the consulting room for an initial assessment lasting about 90 minutes. At this point, you'd give me a little more detail about yourself and your personal history and we'll talk about what you are looking to get from counselling. All our communication is confidential.

If you then decide to continue, we'll arrange a convenient time for you to come for a regular session. The session lasts 50 minutes and is usually weekly, taking place at the same time and day each week.

Training, qualifications & experience

I had a comprehensive and thorough training on an accredited course at the well-respected Metanoia Institute in west London. I qualified with a diploma in Humanistic Counselling and a BSc in Reflective Therapeutic Practice. I also have a BA in Politics, Philosophy and History from earlier studies.

While training, I had to undergo my own therapy and understand how difficult it can feel to be a client. However, my experience has also shown me that what may sometimes feel like hard and challenging work is ultimately very rewarding.

In an earlier life, I worked in the commercial world. I bring the knowledge and experience of time spent in a competitive and demanding business into my work.
