Lucy Chamberlin, MSc (Psych), UKCP reg. (Accred)
I am psychotherapist and counsellor based in Richmond.
People come to counselling and psychotherapy for so many reasons, it would not be possible to list them here. Sometimes life events, life stages or situations can leave us feeling less able to access our resources, making it feel harder to cope with life's ups and downs. I believe that everyone of us has the capacity to achieve change and heal their wounds to build more satisfying relationships. Each person is unique and so is every realtionship. My approach is holistic; how each of us thinks, feels and embodies own unique experiences are all integral to our well-being. Working creatively with you to explore and understand your unique experience. Your well being is important.
I work with relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, bereavement or loss, family issues or if you simply feel ‘stuck’ and want more from your life; I work with you to support you to expand your resources and release your potential to lead a more satisfying life.
I also work with trainees and students.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have an MSc in Gestalt Psychotherapy from Metanoia Institute and Diploma in Hypnotherapy. I am currently training in EMDR.
I have been an Assistant Tutor at Metanoia Institute (Middlesex University) on the MSc training since 2015 in Gestalt Psychotherapy and have taught as Tutor on a counselling training in Hertfordshire. I have also worked within the NHS as a Trainer and as a group process facilitator.
I have worked extensively with loss and bereavement both in a hospice and also with a charity supporting survivors, witnesses and bereaved families during the 7/7 inquest. As well as working with a charity supporting those with addictions and trauma. I have broad workplace experience of working in a range of environments, including working as a creative writer/collaborator on scripts, as well as working in HR in the Corporate sector as well as the Charity sector and the NHS.
My experiences contribute to my belief that each individual needs to be treated with dignity, respect and humanity.
