About me

I offer face to face sessions and online sessions for couples seeking therapy and also Individuals. I offer therapy and coaching on a variety of different issues and work in an integrative way, using different approaches.

I help you to explore what may affect you or your relationship and delve into strategies to improve communication and relationship issues. Further down there are more details on some of the issues I work with.

Psychotherapeutic approach /Person centred Therapist/Individual and Couples Therapist. I have experience with couples and individuals therapy with over 20 years of experience working with families, couples and individuals.

As a psychotherapeutic therapist, I enjoy working with couples within an attachment-based approach. I also use a coaching approach with couples to help them to facilitate healthy communication.

I help couples to develop empathetic listening in a more nurturing and emotionally focussed attuned way.

I use different approaches to build on the strengths of the couple and help to build resilience by using different strategies. I help the couple to try and develop a coproduced plan to work towards.

I have worked in various settings within the charity and children and families sector and have considerable knowledge of loss and bereavement, parenting issues, mental health and addiction issues, relationship issues and childhood trauma. I also coach clients with mindset work, self-esteem and inner child work.

I have worked therapeutically with families as well as individuals and couples for over 20 years. I like to incorporate warmth and empathy into the sessions.

I introduce an environment where the couple or individual feel safe to open up and discuss difficult feelings.

In my approach and during the counselling sessions I seek to engage the couple or individual in exploring their motivations within the relationship or what they would like to focus on.

I explore what drives them forward to either restore and repair or decide to take time out to see whether this is what they want for the future which is part of the therapeutic process.

The sessions help couples and individuals have space to talk about different feelings within the relationship without judgement. My role is to facilitate this process, so that the couples or individuals feel productive and that they can focus on their relationship or themselves without the normal daily distractions.

In my work with couples, I have look at themes which are important and integral to any relationship and look at people's individual communication styles.

Communication is fundamental in any relationship and forms the basis of a strong attachment which can enhance positive interaction and help the couple to understand a more empathetic style of communication.

I have worked with different client groups both individually and with Couples. I often use different techniques such as the person centred approach, tractional analysis, mindfulness, emotional focussed approach and other tools when working with couples.

Counselling for everyone.

If you would like to discuss any issues you feel are holding you back or if you are going through a difficult period in your life, it can sometimes be hard to ask for help, so contacting a counsellor may be the first step to exploring those issues holding you back.

Please feel free to contact me for an initial chat and at that point we can discuss whether you feel you would like to book a further consultation and weekly sessions.

We will look at, what you would like to get from the counselling experience, in the first Initial consultation and then I will see clients on a weekly basis for 50 minute sessions. If you feel you need longer or more frequent sessions, this can be discussed at the Initial stage.

I can also be contacted by phone, email or Instagram @louisekielycoaching and through the Counselling Directory.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
