My core method centres around you - as you are unique. I work collaboratively with you to discover which way of working best suits your current needs. Within the confidential space, you can feel able to explore your difficulties in-depth and begin to increase your self-understanding in order to bring change and possibilities.
I was trained as a humanistic counsellor. What does this mean? In short, that I'm non-judgmental and the core of my practice is that I empathise (which is different from sympathy) and provide unconditional acceptance. I provide a friendly, down-to-earth and safe space. I work with a wide range of issues and find it's better for our wellbeing if we are not directed.
I believe that giving advice is not fulfilling and that being told what to do can start from a young age. This can be damaging and cause confusion as to who you really are and affect life choices.
I also draw on knowledge of various approaches to help reduce your psychological distress and enhance wellbeing. I'm able to bring in elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in a client-centred way.
CBT can have mixed reactions. Many are put off by paper work and ticking boxes. I work with CBT differently and no ticking of boxes are required, as I do not require them to meet targets. CBT can be additionally beneficial with anxiety disorders, addiction, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and eating disorders.
Not only do I have continuous personal development (training), but I feel that the client-counsellor relationship is vitally important. As many studies show that this is a major factor in the client's autonomy.
I am always happy to answer any questions you may have.
Training, qualifications & experience
Working on a one-to-one basis with a range of issues at various practices. Some of the issues brought to therapy range from: Anxiety, generalised anxiety disorder, OCD, panic attacks, PTSD, depression, bariatric surgery, substance misuse and addiction, self-harm, stress, low self-esteem and confidence, postnatal depression, eating disorders, relationship and family issues, affairs and betrayal, sexual and physical abuse, flashbacks, trauma, dissociation, loss and bereavement.
There can be many layers within the counselling process – no matter what the presenting issue may be. Healing can develop from much deeper within.
Regular reviews are carried out throughout the counselling dyad to see how the client is experiencing the process.
I have worked across varied Practices with adults: Schools, a children's centre, substance misuse and addiction before setting up self-employment and working across three locations. I am based in Harley Street, in Central London, WC1. Royal Tunbridge Wells, TN4 and Rochester in Kent, ME1.
I'm a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am continuously advancing my skills by the use of many professional development courses.

- An extensive creative and media background before retraining as a Counsellor. Studying A-Level Art in conjunction with Performing Arts and a BA Hons Degree in Writing has been a great aid in developing creative therapy. As not every person is able to speak out their feelings and thoughts freely.
Within my practice I thrive on my passion for the therapeutic process, working with diversity and unconditional respect.
