Profile
I offer support to adults of all ages, in many areas including; depression, anxiety, bereavement/loss, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, stress, work-related issues, and anger.
What to expect from counselling
Through listening to you and talking with you in a non-judgmental way, I aim to facilitate your personal development. I will rarely offer advice, but will work collaboratively with you to help look at your situation in new, more helpful ways. I will work in a way that suits you, so that you feel in control of the counselling and this helps you to gain the most from your time.
Initial session
This initial session tends to be a good opportunity to get to know one another, and decide whether we may work well together. You may say a little about why you have come and ask further questions you may have about counselling and I may also ask a few questions too. People usually have one or two initial sessions and these sessions are 50 minutes long.
After the initial sessions
At the end of the initial session or sessions, you and I can then decide whether you wish to continue and then you may book a number of further sessions, eg 3-6 more. These tend to be at the same time each week and are used for further exploration of your situation. You may find you get enough from these further sessions, or you may then wish to book more sessions. Whether you come for short-term or long-term counselling we will work together towards ending.
