Profile

I am a professionally qualified, experienced psychodynamic counsellor offering time-limited and longer-term counselling from my rooms in the City of London and in East Sheen, West London.  I can provide a safe space for you to talk and think about your difficulties in confidence and without fear of judgement, criticism or blame. 

I work from a psychodynamic perspective, based on the principle that your current difficulties and ways of relating to others may be affected by experiences earlier in your life.  Through gentle exploration you can come to a deeper understanding of yourself and how you deal with life.  And with more self-awareness and compassion you can begin to make different choices, change unhelpful patterns of behaviour and allow for new possibilities to emerge.

Taking the first step to make contact with a counsellor is not easy and it is important that you find someone you feel comfortable and safe with and someone you can trust.  I offer an inititial meeting so that we have the opportunity to meet each other and think together about your needs and expectations and whether counselling may be helpful for you.

All enquiries are dealt with in the strictest confidence.  You do not need a referral from your GP to make an appointment.  To set up an initial consultation, or to discuss any questions you might have, please contact me by telephone or email.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

I did my professional training at WPF Therapy which is recognised as one of the UK's leading training institutions with a reputation for clinical and academic excellence.

I have an Advanced Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling from WPF and a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Studies from the University of Roehampton.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), am registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapists (UKCP) and am a member of WPF's graduate organisation, The Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling (FPC).  I am bound by the strict ethical and professsional codes of conduct which these bodies require.

In addition to my private practice, I have experience of working for WPF Therapy, within the NHS as a counsellor in a GP Practice and at a counselling centre for women in North London.

Fees

My fee for a regular 50 minute session is between £45-£65, depending on your financial circumstances.

My fee for an initial consultation, which lasts 60-90 minutes, is £50.

The initial consultation gives us the opportunity to meet, for you to ask any questions you might have and talk about your needs and expectations of counselling.  If we decide to work together, we will then set up a regular time to meet each week. 

Further Information

In the City my rooms are directly outside Mansion House tube station (District and Circle Lines) and a 3 minute walk from Bank Station (Central, DLR, Northern and Waterloo & City Lines).

In East Sheen my room is a 5 minute walk from Mortlake Station (South West Trains) and close to Barnes and Putney.  The following buses stop nearby, 33, 337 and 493.  Parking in the local streets is free.
