Lou Burke: Adult, Children and Young Person Counsellor and Nutritional Coach.
I am a fully qualified BACP counsellor, specialising in working with Children and young people, from age 11yrs and Nutritional coaching for adults and children.
I work in an Integrative form of therapy and base my therapeutic work on building a secure relationship with my clients allowing flexibility to see families/ adults or young people. I have worked in education for 20yrs in various forms, from support of primary age children to setting up and running Inclusion and counselling services for secondary age pupils and I now also work part-time, alongside my private practice, as the Student Mental Health Coordinator at York College.
I work to support adults, children and young people through the increasing stresses and pressures that we face in todays society, which can include anxiety, bullying, friendships difficulties, self harm, self esteem anger issues, gender identity and relationships difficulties and I am also currently studying and working with the emotional impact that our modern day nutritional decisions have, which includes counselling for hormonal difficulties such as PMS and Menopause through to long term chronic pain management.
I am fully insured and DBS checked and can offer short term or long term confidential counselling and will work with you to decide the best route. I work from a warm comfortable room with a waiting area in a convenient location in York with Parking and good bus and train routes.
