About me

I am an integrative  EMDR, Cognitive and Humanistic therapist, who is warm, approachable, caring and supportive. I consistently and endeavour to offer all my clients' a confidential safe space, where they can be comfortable and safely explore their feelings of distress freely without fear of being judged.

I am also UKCP registered and an EMDR Accredited  practitioner with 16 years of counselling and psychotherapy experience. The focus of my work is trauma- informed and together we will identify the causes of your distress, understand what perpetuates them and reduce their symptoms or discomfort. My work is client-led, therefore, I believe that you know what you want from therapy and " what hurts and where your difficulties lie".

So together we will work at your pace to help you resolve your problems. Which my EMDR training augments by offering practical resources and skills to minimise your distressing experiences and current problems.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified Client Centred psychotherapist., EMDR Post grad researcher, PTSD specialist and trauma practitier . I work from a trauma informed basis, to treat the root cause of a problem or psychopathology using both trauma informed EMDR skills and Client Centred attitude. Of warmth, and unconditional  acceptance of clients. I believe that you as the client are as valuable and important in our relationship because you know "what hurts and which direction to go" (Rogers 1959). and I help facilitate healing, growth and help reduce your mental health symptoms, of; stress, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, OCD, selfesteem etc

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
