My name is Lorraine Bagshaw and I am a UKCP accredited psychotherapist, offering counselling and psychotherapy in the Leamington Spa and Warwickshire area.
My aim is to offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment for you to explore your feelings. This could be a period in your life when you are experiencing change, anxiety, stress or overwhelm and extra support is needed. Other issues that may lead you to psychotherapy could be; eating disorders, OCD, panic attacks, addiction, bereavement, depression or relationship problems. The therapy is a way of working through past trauma's or present difficulties in a way where you can move forward with your life, feeling more connected to yourself and others.
This is facilitated by weekly sessions on either a short or long term basis. I work with individuals on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully.
My approach is Integrative which incorporates Attachment theory, Object Relations, Humanistic, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt and many more. Ultimately I focus on creating a safe space for you to share their story and explore your feelings. I am flexible in my approach as a psychotherapist and the way I work with everyone is different, depending on your needs.
I believe that therapy and mental health care is for everyone, and most people can benefit from discovering more about themselves with the support of a therapist.
My experience as a psychotherapist has seen me working in many different settings which have included Nottingham Women's Centre, Worcestershire NHS and Birmingham based counselling charity Cedar Counselling. I have also worked in an FE College, Young persons agency and Schools. This is alongside my private practice based in Leamington Spa.
