Lorna Johnson (MBACP registered) (PG Dip Counselling Children & Young People)
Hello I'm Lorna, I am an ethical, compassionate and trustworthy counsellor offering a safe therapeutic environment in which to explore your experiences and concerns. Counselling for me has been an incredible journey of self awareness and growth. Using my experiences, techniques and knowledge gained through study I believe I can offer a unique perspective on the counselling process.
As a Person Centered counsellor, my clients are in control of their therapeutic journey. Building a trusting, non judgmental relationship in a safe space is an important part of the counselling practice. To complement and enhance this process I integrate methods from Humanistic, Psycho-dynamic and Cognitive Behavioral Therapies, Neuro Linguistic Programming and Life coaching.
Finding solutions and identifying ways of dealing with anxieties and concerns come from the exploration of your thoughts, beliefs, behaviors and experiences.
Lifestyle choices can hugely affect our mental, emotional and physical selves. With a wealth of experience gained within the health & fitness industry as a coach I offer the opportunity to draw from this to add extra insight into your sessions.
Relaxed, open minded and compassionate I can offer a confidential and safe environment in which to explore. Regular reviews will allow us to develop strategies and ensure the therapy is reaching your expectations.
Additionally I offer the unique opportunity to "Walk n Talk". In a safe environment we can explore your experiences whilst we walk reducing anxieties some people experience when talking face to face.
As a registered member of the BACP (registration number 744440) I adhere to high professional and ethical standards therefore attending regular monthly supervision and continual professional development.
