Everyone faces difficulties in their lives at some time or another. Sometimes these are generated by recent life events such as bereavement or job loss and sometimes they arise from the accumulation of feelings and problems that have occurred throughout life and are experienced as anxiety, depression, lack of self-esteem or problems with work and relationships.
Therapy and counselling provides an opportunity to talk about difficulties in a safe and contained environment with a specially trained professional.
I have been a practising counsellor/psychotherapist for the past twelve years and am committed to providing counselling and psychotherapy within a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment.
I offer a humanistic integrative approach with elements of the Transpersonal and Psychodynamic.
What does that mean? Well, My role, is to facilitate your exploration of difficulties you may be experiencing with certain situations or issues, bereavement and loss, anxiety or perhaps longer standing issues and emotional problems, to explore together how you feel about it and the impact it is having on your life. To enable you to identify what you would like to be different in your life and look at possible ways you might achieve that, empowering you to recognise the choices you have to bring about the changes you desire.
I work with both individuals and couples on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling clients to deal with life events, change, bereavement/loss or trauma etc.
Areas of counselling I deal with include but are not limited to:
Stress, self-esteem, relationships, trauma, bereavement/loss, anxiety, redundancy, depression, abuse (past and present) and domestic violence.

I am an experienced counsellor offering a humanistic integrative approach to counselling and counselling supervision. For twelve years I worked in a counselling agency as a Volunteer Counsellor until accepting a post as Counselling Co-ordinator and Line Manager as well as seeing clients and supervising counsellors. I enjoyed my time working at the agency and gained a lot of experience working with a diverse range of clients. I left the agency in 2014 in order to concentrate on my private practice and teaching.
I am a qualified tutor and currently teach counselling and psychotherapy from certificate through to diploma level at West Thames College.
Believing in a holistic approach to wellbeing, many years ago I qualified as a Spiritual Healer and as a trainer of Louise Hay 'You Can Heal Your Life' workshops.

As well as being an opportunity for you to talk about what is troubling you, the initial consultation is also a chance for us to meet each other and find out whether I am the right counsellor for you. It is very important that you choose a counsellor that you feel comfortable with. It is also your opportunity to ask any questions about counselling and how it might help you. Between us we can then decide if we might work well together and in your best interests.
The cost of each weekly session is £45. The initial session is at a reduced fee of £30.
I offer student discount. A sliding fee scale is available in certain circumstances.
Fee: £45.00 with a discounted rate for students.
