About me

In life’s journey we experience many ups and downs with issues we find difficult to cope with. To have someone there who’s warm, supportive and non judgemental can help to make that journey a little easier.
To be heard and understood can aid in the process of understanding our inner feelings and emotions and help us to find successful ways of managing the difficulties that life throws at us.

I can offer a safe and confidential place for you to share, explore and work through those difficulties which may be causing you distress.

I am a qualified integrative psychotherapist, which means I work using different theoretical approaches, combining elements of Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Transactional Analysis (TA) and Psychodynamic.
I believe we are all unique individuals with different needs and by having the flexibility to access different approaches we can work with what best suits you. Therefore, I also work creatively in the form of sandtray work giving you the option to explore your issues in a more visual way.

You may be experiencing relationship issues, anxiety, stress, depression or just being stuck. We can work together to address these issues and help you to move forward.

I believe that each and every one of us has the potential to grow and change and live a more fulfilling life.

I can offer short term or long term counselling depending on your needs. Some people come for counselling and find they can resolve their issues within 6, 8 or 10 weeks and some find they need longer, once they begin to work through their difficulties. There is no time limit, just a process to fit your needs.

I work with Adults, Young People, Couples, Parent/Child relationships and groups. Please see my website for more details. www.loistherapy.co.uk

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
