I have more than 10 years’ experience in psychology practice, having worked in two of the largest public hospitals and psychiatric institutes in South America as well as in private practice.
In the United Kingdom, I work in my own private practice and have also worked as a cognitive-behavioural therapist for the NHS.
During this time, I have treated people from different age groups with a variety of difficulties, ranging from the everyday challenges we sometimes face (low self-esteem, family and relationship problems, stress, bereavement, etc.) to various psychiatric and neuropsychiatric disorders. Having lived in Brazil, the United States and the United Kingdom, I am sensitive to how different customs, cultures and immigration influence and have an impact on behaviours, cognition, beliefs and mental health in general.
I offer cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) as well as its new developments, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and functional analytic psychotherapy (FAP).
My approach is to work flexibly and tailor treatment to the client's needs. I am able to offer both short-term focused treatments as well as open ended psychotherapy.
I am able to conducted sessions in English and Portuguese.
