About me

I am a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist providing therapy for a range of issues which affect individuals.  I have over thirteen years experience working with children, young people and adults to overcome social and emotional difficulties and have a particular interest in working with children and young adults.

I have experience working collaboratively with individuals to overcome difficulties in the following areas:

  • Anxiety, panic, phobias and OCD
  • Bereavement
  • Depression
  • Low self-esteem and confidence issues
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Self-harm
  • Suicide Ideation

Subscribing to and regulated by the BABCP professional code of conduct and ethics, I aim to provide a safe, accepting and confidential space to support individuals to explore and overcome their difficulties and achieve their goals.

  • SCOTACS Diploma in Counselling and Group Work – a Cognitive Behavioural Approach
  • COSCA  Certificate in Counselling Skills
  • B.A Honours Degree Psychology
  • Accredited ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills) Trainer

After graduating with an Honours Degree in Psychology in 2002 I began my career in the field of Behavioural Therapy with children diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorders. For the last ten years I have worked in several Local Authorities as a Home School Partnership Officer providing one to one support and group work programmes for children, young people and parents affected by a range of social and emotional issues. I embarked on the COSCA Counselling Skills Certificate in 2005 and began the Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in 2013.  During the diploma I completed a training placement, within the NHS, at a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. Here, I provided Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for young adults and parents of children within the service.  In addition to this, I completed Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) in 2005 and have been an accredited ASIST trainer since 2009.
