Dr Lisa Manning MBACP
Hi my name is Dr Lisa Manning and I understand that life can be overwhelming at times. I also know that seeing a counsellor or therapist can be quite frightening the first time. If you choose to contact me, your enquiry will be treated in confidence and I will put you at ease.
People from all walks of life seek counselling. You may find you’re struggling with relationships, or crisis in your personal life, or perhaps you’re experiencing anxiety over work issues, facing bereavement, illness or a broken relationship. You may even have feelings of hopelessness, a lack of self-worth or confidence, depression or stress, or maybe the cause is related to your past. Whatever it is, you can bring it to counselling.
I offer a range of professional counselling therapies, hypnotherapy, NLP and training across Merseyside. We provide a warm, personal and confidential face-to-face, telephone, Skype or online counselling service. We work with you in an integrative manner, which means we will use a combination of techniques such as CBT, psychodynamic counselling, hypnotherapy etc. tailored to your specific needs.
Don' suffer but make changes call me if you would like to arrange an appointment, or just want to talk through your needs.

Your first session is a FREE telephone consultation which will last approximately 30 minutes.
Your first session is a time when we can get to know each other and decide whether we can work together. There is no obligation to book further sessions and you will be free to think things over before committing yourself to further sessions.
Further sessions are charged at £40 per session (50 minutes). For couple counselling, it is £50 per session.
Hypnotherapy is charged on an individual basis depending on length of the session
Discounts are available to the unwaged and those in financial hardship. I strive to ensure that no one is denied access to counselling on the basis of cost, therefore my rates are negotiable, depending on individual circumstances. I will not ask for details of your financial position but will take it on trust that you will pay what you can reasonably afford.
Should you decide not to continue beyond the first session, no charge would be made. This gives you an opportunity to explore what counselling may offer you, without any financial commitment.
I am a personal member of the BACP and operate within their professional guidelines. As such we are bound by their 'code of ethics' and are subject to their complaints procedure. We are also required to be in regular liaison with a clinical supervisor to ensure ethical practice. I'm fully insured and have a recent DBS (what was CRB) check.
Daytime, evening and weekend appointments are available. While I normally see clients in person here in Formby I would be willing to consider other options, including home visits and counselling by phone, chat or Skype according to individual circumstances.
I found the counselling service to be lifesaving, it really helped me to overcome so many problems and I feel stronger to cope with other problems that may arise.
I found the counsellor really easy to talk to and felt I wasn’t judged, they made me look at the world differently and make me realise I CAN change things for the better.
I underwent hypnotherapy to stop smoking and guess what I stopped! I have tried very thing in the past and this is the only treatment that works!! Try it today.
I just want to say a big big thank you for all your help and support; you really are a ‘lifesaver! I found the service professional but really welcoming and you made it easy to talk about some embarrassing problems that I now feel totally different and positive about, thank you immensely.
