I am a professionally qualified counsellor with 10 years experience working in Brighton and Hove and Lewes. I offer short and long term counselling to individuals.
It's not always an easy decision to come to counselling and you may decide to come to seek additional support for something that has been worrying you for a while or due to a current upset such as a relationship breakdown or bereavement.
The therapeutic relationship I offer allows you the time and space to explore some of the things that are causing you distress and/or anxiety. I can help you to explore your past and how it may help you to understand your current situation. 'The talking cure' gives you the opportunity to explore the way you are feeling and gain a more empowered sense of self.
I work within a safe and confidential setting, adhering to a professional framework and using my experience as a trained counsellor and background in mental health. I originally staring working in the field of mental health and went on to train as a psychodynamic counsellor. I work in private practice and have worked in a school and university setting. I also manage a range of practitioners working with women with vulnerabilities.
I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and am professionally insuranced.
