About me

Based in Bordon but covering areas from Farnham, Liphook and Petersfield, my aim is to work with you to talk through your difficulties and issues to help you to seek and find a way to get a solution to your problems.

Through providing a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space, this will allow you to trust and talk about your issues and concerns. My aim is  to "be with you" throughout these difficult times and to also have the skills and expertise to enable you to find the parts of yourself that you need to recover or find a solution in your life. .

Counselling is provided in a confidential environment and will work at your own pace and at a time convenient for you. Counselling can be seen to be a journey to be embarked on "together." I (as the counsellor) will act as the mirror to enable you to explore and look at yourself and thus enable you to create the changes you desire.

I am trained in the 5 relational model. This incorporates the Psychodynamic relationship which looks at the unconscious and patterns that stem and re-emerge from the past, It is also based on the Reparative relationship which allows you to receive a repairing relationship. I also work in the ‘here and now’ relationship in the room and also with the working alliance relationship. Finally the transpersonal relationship can also be drawn upon.

I believe change can take place once the cause of pain and difficulty is sourced and given the right conditions strength can be found within yourself to move forward with your life. The counselling relationship is a relationship that is created and formed together to work through, however you are the focus of that relationship.

I have worked within the civil service for 20 years and have been used to supporting the public  with difficulties in their lives and helping them to move forward with their lives.

I am currently continuing my development through training to be a supervisor. If anyone would like support with supervision for free while I am training, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
