About me

I offer counselling with warmth, openness, flexibility and respect.

Who I am
I qualified as a Counsellor and Coach after a 35-year career teaching, researching and managing in universities. Working as a Counsellor enables me to continue helping people develop their potential. I volunteer with several counselling charities, and particularly enjoy my private counselling ands supervision practice. I see clients in a quiet room overlooking my garden, in the middle of a village on the northern edge of Dartmoor.

My great joys in life come from my three grandchildren, my garden, my books, and cooking for family and friends.

What I do
My counselling is 'integrative', meaning that I draw on a range of approaches to counselling, depending on what is best for the particular client. I see my job as being to help clients explore their situations, their concerns, their difficulties and their possibilities for change, and to support them in making changes.

NLP (Neuro-Lingusitic Programming) Master Practitioner
I regularly attend continuing professional development courses and workshops on issues such as sexual abuse, domestic violence, bereavement, dissociative disorder.
