White Friars Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre
29 White Friars
I am an experienced Counsellor and Psychotherapist and work with individuals and couples in a safe, empathic and comfortable environment. I work with people experiencing a range of issues including depression, anxiety, stress, relationship/marriage difficulties, identity issues, difficulties with food and body image, work related problems, bereavement and loss. I also work with couples who may be experiencing difficulties within their relationship or those who are thinking of or who have separated and divorced.
I am based in Gwynedd, North Wales and I also have a Wednesday Clinic in the Centre of Chester.
At times, reaching out can be difficult, especially if you have never experienced counselling or being in therapy before. However, making that first step can be really positive in bringing about or making changes in your life.
I always meet the person or couple for an initial assessment session. This gives me the opportunity to see if I can support you effectively and would be of help to you. More importantly, for you, the initial session can give you the “feel” of what therapy would be like and to see if you feel comfortable working with me. From here, you may decide to go ahead and we agree to work together or you may want further time to think about it.
Individual Therapy - £42 for a 50 minute session
I work one to one over a short or long term period. It is often very difficult to predict how long therapy will last but we will agree an intial amount of sesions and then we review this on a regular basis. The relationship between the therapist and the client is very important and I would recommend that you look around to find the right therapist for you.
Couples/Marriage Counselling - £55 for a 50 minute session
I work with heterosexual and same sex couples on a short and long term basis. Often with relationship difficulties, it can be often helpful for differences to be aired and discussed in a safe environment where both parties feel listened to and respected. I work in an empathic way which promotes a safe and comfortable space in which to explore the difficulties within the relationship. Please feel free to telephone me if you would like more information.
For Brief Therapy with couples - £70 for a one hour and thirty minute session.
I am now offering brief therapy for couples. This is a focused approach and will require the couple to undertake further work at home in-between sessions for the therapy to be beneficial. After assessment , if you and I feel that this is suitable, we will agree to meet for a one and a half hour session every two weeks and agree the work you will undertake in-between the sessions. The brief therapy approach is usually for six to eight sessions. This approach may not be suitable for all couples - we discuss the best approach after the initial assessment session.
