About me

I am an experienced Counsellor working with adult clients and couples.

Life is rarely straightforward and I do recognise that there are times when we become unable to see a way through our difficulties.

You may have relationship issues with your partner, friends or family; feeling overwhelmed by stress, anxiety or depression; or your confidence and self esteem are having a detrimental impact on your life.

Often our relating patterns were determined in early childhood but as an adult we can find that they are no longer useful to us.

Engaging in the therapeutic process, exploring your thoughts and feelings,  not only helps to heal the past but also enables you to understand yourself better. This will offer you healthier and more fulfilling relationships with others which will sustain you in all aspects of your life.

As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I follow a set of ethical principles and guidelines that underpin my practice. I maintain and enhance the quality of my work through regular supervision and continued professional development.

As well as ‘face to face’ counselling I also offer telephone or video platform sessions (via Zoom or WhatsApp as I have found these to be most secure).

If you have any questions I would be happy to discuss them with you prior to making an appointment.

Please call me on 07803 060215 or send an email and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
