About me

Welcome.

My name is Lei Myo and I am a qualified and accredited clinical psychotherapist and therapeutic counsellor with experience of working with short and long term clients.

I take an integrative approach with my work, working with Person Centered, Gestalt, Jungian, Psychoanalytic and Psychosynthesis theories. The heart of my work is mindfulness with a respect of where a client currently is in their life.

I understand how life can sometimes be hard, challenging, frustrating and lonely and how it can help to have therapy in those times to support and journey with.

I also understand how therapy can help make an individual empowered, accepting, liberated and aware by providing a safe, respectful and sometimes challenging space.

I work with my clients in a space where we explore together how we can hold the challenges of current life at the same time as living with purpose, meaning and creativity through psychological and spiritual growth.

Please feel free to contact me via telephone or email if you would like an informal chat about where you are and if we could work together, or to arrange an initial session.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling from the Psychosynthesis and Education Trust and a Masters in Psychosynthesis Psychotherapy with the Institute of Psychosynthesis and am also trained in EMDR.

I have previously worked as a volunteer counsellor for the Miscarriage Association for several years with experience of providing telephone counselling and support. I have also facilitated the London support group at Guy's Hospital.

I have also worked with a wide range of clients from my time as a counsellor at Mind in Tower Hamlets and Newham in short term counselling. I also have experience of working with addiction from my time with the Alcohol Service in Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster and Equinox Care in the areas of recovery, drug and alcohol addiction and homelessness.

I am an Accredited Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP). I also adhere to the Professional and Ethical Framework for Good Practice of the BACP and I am in regular monthly supervision as required by the BACP.

I also have a BA in Culture and Communication from Lancaster University.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
