About me

You are more than what happens to you. You can be who you wish to be.

My role as a counsellor is to provide a safe and confidential space where you can explore what is bothering you and begin to see things more clearly, or experience life more fully. Increasing your awareness and understanding of your thoughts and feelings, empowers and enables you to make choices and changes in your life.

I recognise your individuality so I work with who you are, rather than your problem - exploring your unique experience and perception of what is troubling you is fundamental to my counselling approach. Therefore whatever has led you to seek counselling, you will not be given unwelcome advice but supported with trust, dignity, respect and empathic understanding.

My flexible and individualistic approach allows me to adapt my counselling style to support you in the exploration of whatever difficulties you are experiencing. I offer a safe, caring and non-judgemental counselling relationship that is led by your specific needs and wants, without limitation.

Getting Started With Counselling

If you feel that I am the right counsellor for you, please email, text or call me to ask any questions you may have or to arrange an initial appointment.

Generally the first session will involve getting to know each other and discussing what you want from counselling. It is also an opportunity for you to 'off load' your troubles for perhaps the first time that you have felt able.

We can then arrange our next appointment or book several sessions over the coming weeks, if you choose to do this a discount is available when paid for in advance.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a First Class Honours Degree in Integrative Humanistic Counselling with training and experience in Person-Centred Counselling, Existentialism and Gestalt Therapy.

I work with adults covering a wide range of counselling issues.

I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy so you can be assured of my commitment to provide an ethical and regulated practice.

You are in safe hands.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
