As a qualified and BACP registered counsellor I will provide you with a safe, non-judgmental, confidential environment where together we can explore issues that are impacting on your life. I work with adults and offer face-to-face, short and long-term counselling in Hinckley. I can help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships as well as explore problems in your life and identify changes that you may want to make.
As a person-centred counsellor, I believe that you know yourself and your life best and therefore I will not tell you what to do or how to make changes. Instead, I will offer a warm, respectful space where you can explore your unique situation and come to your own decisions about what works best for you by talking through your thoughts and feelings.
Over the years I have gained experience in working with a broad range of issues and client groups. I have developed a special interest in working with clients that have issues with self-esteem or self-image. The way we view ourselves is developed throughout our lives and experiences such as abuse, bullying or illness can have a huge impact on the way we see ourselves. Low self-esteem and problems with personal identity can impact all aspects of an individual's life, including work, friendships and relationships. Working with individuals to overcome these issues has become one of my passions.
However, what my experience has taught me most is that everyone and every situation is individual and therefore each person needs an individual approach that suits them and their situation and that is what I aim to provide.
As a registered member of the BACP I work within their ethical framework. I regularly undertake Continued Professional Development and have regular supervision to enhance my practice. I hold professional indemnity insurance and have an enhanced DBS certificate.
