About me

I have been working in the field of counselling and therapy with women and men, over a wide range of ages and from all walks of life, also children (age 8 – 17) with a variety of issues.

I believe that everyone has the potential to change and is able to repair and/or rebuild their lives. I feel the most important aspect of this work is to have a good enough relationship with your counsellor so that you are able to talk about anything that concerns you.

My training is within Psychodynamic Counselling and Therapy. I have worked within a variety of settings, including the NHS, Schools, Womens centres and organisations that work with diverse / ethnic communities.

I see people for short term or open-ended.

I have consulting rooms available in Littlehampton & Worthing

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

Often people wonder how counselling or talking to someone can help. When you see a Counsellor/Therapist, you will have a consistency and continuity of a professional relationship, which provides you a space where you are being properly listened to.  This can then allow you to think, and get a clear idea of what is going on for you. Together with your Counsellor/Therapist you can begin to explore and unpack your ideas, views, opinions, etc. This could lead you to more clarity and you may become more mindful of yourself.

If you would like to get stated, please call or email to set up an initial session.

We can talk about what you would like to get out of counselling and If you're happy to continue we will arrange to see each other on a weekly basis.
