Lauren Key - Reg.MBACP, BSc(Hons)Psychology, Prof.Dip.Couns
Hello, I'm Lauren. I am a fully qualified and experienced professional counsellor. I offer a safe, warm and genuine approach to therapy.
My past work includes being a counsellor at Broadway Lodge rehabilitation centre for addictions, which has given me a vast array of experience of counselling around different areas.
Whether you are looking for someone to talk to about things you feel you cannot share with anyone else, are in a crisis point in life and need emotional support, require a confidential space to explore unresolved past experiences or memories, are maintaining addiction recovery and seek ongoing individual work, need an opportunity to reflect on your current situation in order to move forward, or would like to know yourself better as part of personal development; counselling is a way forward with these goals.
My therapeutic approach is integrative and relational. The 'integrative' part of this means that I am trained in and use therapeutic skills from different theoretical backgrounds in order to best suit each individual's needs and way of working. The 'relational' part of this means that I believe in the therapeutic, healing nature of forming a safe, trusting counsellor and client relationship.
I offer short-term, and long-term ongoing counselling. Over the last year I have worked in two locations in Bristol - just off of Gloucester Road, and also a residential area near the city centre in Cotham. I am currently in the process of moving my practice to Newport, South Wales, where I will be starting sessions from early December. Newport sessions will be conducted from my home - a light, airy, safe space, with total privacy ensuring your confidentiality. There is also free parking at the back of the house making it a convenient location a short distance from the city centre.
Every counsellor is different, just as every client and their needs are different. I welcome questions about my therapeutic approach and sessions, so please don't hesitate to email or phone me.
When booking our initial session together, you have two options; a free half an hour taster session, or a full 50 minute session charged at my reduced rate of £30.
A testimonial from a past client;
"I worked with Lauren over a period of fourteen weeks. When we first met I was broken - physically, spiritually and emotionally. Gently, she helped me to trust, explore and make sense of a myriad of life events that ultimately led to addiction, self harm and eating disorders. Intuitively she worked creatively with me which I found to be really helpful in tackling the most difficult of problems. It was a liberating, amazing collaborative experience. A year on I am living the life I had only dreamed of - Lauren gave me hope support and enabled me to move on with my life. It was an incredible journey."
