About me

I am an experienced and compassionate counsellor, dedicated to providing exceptional care for my clients.

At times, when we are unhappy, and things feel chaotic, it is hard to recognise that we have choices and can take back control of our lives with professional support and the accompaniment of someone who can help examine issues from a different standpoint. Counselling is not a "quick fix", but it will strengthen your inner resources and help give you more self-awareness for the future. Often, I have seen clients who have committed to Counselling transform their lives in new and exciting ways and begin to feel more fulfilled, happier and confident about themselves and their futures.

Just as we invest in our physical and material needs, I believe that investing in the emotional, psychological and spiritual aspects of our lives is always valuable, productive and worth doing.

I am a fully qualified and accredited counsellor with several years NHS experience and in private practice. I have worked with many different concerns such as abuse, anger, anxiety and depression, loss, compulsions and phobias along with issues of complicated grief and bereavement, bullying, non-medical sexual problems, postnatal depression, low self-esteem/self-confidence, Post-Traumatic Stress, PTSD and any past or recent trauma.

I have diplomas in both Humanistic Therapies and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy; this means that I can integrate my work to best suit your needs.

If you would like to make an appointment or to have an initial chat to find out if counselling with me is for you, please contact me on 07833 694 357 or 0151 920 0257.

Training, qualifications & experience

I qualified firstly as a Person-Centred counsellor then completed a second diplama in Cognitive behavioural Therapy.

I worked within the NHS for a number of years prior to opening my private practice. During that time I completed further training in Mindfulness for both CBT and Person Centred Practice, Transactional Analysis, Psychosexual issues, domestic abuse and self harm.

For my work with young people and adolescents I have trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for children, sand-tray therapy, which can be used for both adults and children, and Creative Play for children and teenagers.

More recently I have furthered my knowledge by studying and completing a degree in counselling and psychology, which has proved invaluable in that I have knowledge of the latest psychological findings, including neuroscience, which helps me and subsequently my clients, understand how our minds might work.

I have also taken part in recent conferences and training regarding: children at risk, suicide prevention, self-harm and domestic abuse.
