About me

When life feels fraught with difficulties, it can leave us feeling unable to cope. Talking to a counsellor at these times can really help. My aim is to offer you a professional service and provide a warm, friendly and safe environment in which you can discuss your concerns and identify what might be done to help. I understand how difficult making that first telephone call can be, I have been there myself, so I also know how useful counselling can be.

I am a fully qualified and experienced counsellor. With several years NHS experience and in private practice, I have gained experience working with many different concerns such as: abuse, anger, anxiety and depression, loss, compulsions and phobias along with issues of complex grief and bereavement, bullying, non-medical sexual problems, postnatal depression, low self-esteem / self-confidence, and past or recent trauma.

If you would like to make an appointment or to have an initial chat to find out if counselling with me is for you please contact me on 07833 694 357 or 0151 920 0257.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified Person-Centred and Cognitive behavioural therapist

I worked within the NHS for a number of years prior to opening my private practice. During that time I completed further training in Mindfulness for both CBT and Person Centred Practice, Transactional Analysis, Psychosexual issues, domestic abuse and self harm.

For my work with young people and adolescents I have trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for children, sand-tray therapy, which can be used for both adults and children, and Creative Play for children and teenagers.

More recently I have furthered my knowledge by studying and completing a degree in counselling and psychology, which has proved invaluable in that I have knowledge of the latest psychological findings, including neuroscience, which helps me and subsequently my clients, understand how our minds might work.

I have also taken part in recent conferences and training regarding: children at risk, suicide prevention, self-harm and domestic abuse.
